Assignment

I like this assignment because my camera very apparently has some meaning to me, but not particularly in how it looks. It’s a black, vaguely fascistic thing covered in buttons and glass. So, a very clear contradiction, how to solve?

I also like it because it addresses something I’ve resisted dealing with for a while, my general problem of taking pictures of things based on what they look like, rather than what they mean. If I don’t like the way my camera looks, I had better figure out how to express what it means to me in order to take an interesting picture for the assignment.

This is the first thing I tried, thinking about the idea of losing or abandoning the camera somewhere. It looks like shit because I had to take it with my cameraphone.
