Recently unphotographed

1. A black man in a gray pinstripe suit and an angular gold star lapel pin clasping a subway pole with two hands in front of him. His fingernail beds were very pink.
2. A young guy in a motorcycle jacket and greased back hair selling vacuum cleaners, with old spare vacuum hoses hanging on a rack behind him. I could smell the dusty, hairy smell of vacuuming in the shop. His pit bull jumped up on me and sniffed my camera. I wonder how my camera smells.
3. A guy in a leopard bowling shirt coming up the stairs at Smith & 9th with 36 rolls of toilet paper under each arm.
4. Also at Smith & 9th, a woman in a robin’s egg blue pantsuit holding a long dowel. She agreed to be photographed until she realized I was trying to put her in the shot with the Statue of Liberty behind her. Then she walked away.
